Our story
Two beekeepers, one territory and millions of bees
Bee Happy, Be Live was born in Anzoátegui, Tolima, from the conviction that protecting bees and creating dignified rural income are the same task. We start with 500 hives and a clear plan: growing to 2,500 in five years, multiplying life along the way.
Our mission
To develop a regenerative beekeeping ecosystem that drives territorial development: technified production with an agroecological approach, agro-industrial added value, real inclusion of women and youth, and access to differentiated markets.
Our vision
To become a replicable model of regenerative beekeeping in Colombia and Latin America: healthy hives, forests with more bee-friendly flora, communities with dignified work, and hive products meeting international standards.

The founders
The project is led from the territory by its two co-founders, who combine beekeeping vocation with the strategic management of the venture.
José Joaquín Casas Hernández
Co-founder · Director of Strategic Development and Marketing
Entrepreneur and project manager with experience in designing, developing and promoting initiatives of social, environmental and economic impact. His work focuses on sustainable business models, strategic marketing, brand building and managing national and international partnerships. At Bee Happy he leads the structuring of the project, proposals for cooperation funding calls, commercial strategy and brand positioning. His vision brings together biodiversity conservation and rural economic development, promoting beekeeping as a tool to create jobs, protect pollinators and strengthen the farming communities of Anzoátegui, Tolima.
Álvaro Alexander Fuertes Valencia
Co-founder · Technical Beekeeping Director
Beekeeping technician with extensive experience in apiary management, biological material production, hive multiplication and the production of honey, pollen, propolis, wax and apitoxin. He has developed expertise in bee health, nutrition, genetic selection and queen management, promoting Good Beekeeping Practices and colony welfare. At Bee Happy he leads the apiary's technical planning, the training of new beekeepers, and applied research to diversify production and help conserve pollinators.

Anzoátegui has everything a bee needs: high biodiversity, native bee-friendly species and low agrochemical pressure. It is also a rural territory that deserves more opportunities — which is why the apiary is built with the community, not just in it.
